Three Men and a Maid

The maid of this novel is red-haired dog-loving Wilhelmina “Billie” Bennett, and the three men are a long-time friend and suitor of Billie, the painfully shy son of a formidable female writer who is engaged to Billie against his mother’s wishes, and a dashing cousin of her fiancé who falls in love with her at first sight. The four end up on the same ocean liner to England. Schemes that go terribly wrong, misunderstandings, and Wodehousean confusion ensue, with happy endings for all concerned.
