This collection of 25 stories includes Edgar Allan Poe’s three mystery stories and all of his best-known tales, including “The Black Cat,” “The Cask of Amontillado,” “The Fall of the House of Usher,” “The Imp of the Perverse,” “The Man of the Crowd,” “The Masque of the Red Death,” “The Pit and the Pendulum,” “The Premature Burial,” and “The Tell-Tale Heart.” It also includes a few lesser-known stories like “William Wilson” that deserve to be ranked with his best. In these tales Poe introduced narrative points of view and ideas that have influenced mystery and science fiction writers up to the present.
