Eleanor Porter

Eleanor Emily Hodgman Porter (1868-1920) was born in Littleton, New Hampshire. She wrote children’s literature, adventure stories and romance fiction. Her most famous novel is Pollyanna (1913), that had 47 printings during her lifetime, and was later followed by a sequel, Pollyanna Grows Up (1915).
