Columbine was an orphan found alone in the wilderness and adopted by rancher Bill Belllounds, who raised her as his own daughter. Now a young woman, she promises Belllounds she will marry his son, the hotheaded drunk and gambler Buster Jack, even though she has fallen in love with cowboy Wilson Moore and is tormented by her decision. Into this conflict comes a mysterious rider, who, driven by a dark past and terrible secret, is determined to stop the marriage and secure Columbine’s happiness, no matter what it takes. One of Zane Grey’s best westerns, it was made into four film versions.
